Immediately after our disastrous race on May 21st, #33 Street Stock competitor Jamie Grover offered us a new clip for Scarlett. That was pretty generous and we took him up on his offer. Thanks Jamie. (Later Dave Lawrence gave us a clip that was a bit more solid in a couple of areas so we are going to use that. Thanks Dave.)
Uncle Don then prepped the clip and got Scarlett ready for a trip to McColl Racing Enterprises. Jamie Grover works for McColl's and was the tech who installed the clip and support structure. He did a nice job and Mike McColl's bill was very reasonable for the work involved.
Attention turned then to re-assembling Scarlett - and determining why she took a sudden turn into the Turn 1 wall. We discovered that the damage to the rear (created during the first incident that night) was much more extensive that we thought, and it offered some clues as to why the car suddenly headed right, into the wall. We are targetting June 24th for Scarlett's return to the track.
UPDATE:
Scarlett got back on the track June 24th, and went on to win 3 more races. But just when we got Scarlett sorted out disaster struck once again. On August 19th, during practice, we hit the wall hard. This is unbelievably frustrating.
