2005 APPRECIATION DAY
On October 8th we celebrated "Sponsor and Team Appreciation Day" at Delaware Speedway. We really wanted to thank our Sponsors and Team for their awesome support this season. We shared the rental of Delaware Speedway with the Darrell Lake and Dave Lawrence race teams.
Mom really did a lot of work to put together a nice display for the food and refreshments, she was joined by Mrs. Lake who also did a lot of work to get ready. A BIG THANKS goes to Neil Richmond who brought a super new BBQ - Neil ended up cooking burgers, sausages, and hot dogs for a larger than expected crowd.
While the weather wasn't nearly as nice as it was last year, it was fun to be able to offer everyone a chance to drive or ride in one of our race cars. Uncle Don had installed a second seat (with full 5-point harness) on the passenger side of our car so that those not ready to drive the car could still go for a ride around the Speedway. I gave lots of rides and Darrell also used our car to take some of his group for a ride. Judging by how many people lined up to drive or ride, and the smiles on their faces afterwards, this was a big hit with everyone.
